Vodacom SuperGees Tour Day 6

The trip back home has finally arrived, and what felt like forever, actually passed in the blink of an eye. I was happy and sad at the same time. Vodacom gave us the opportunity of a lifetime, to see the Super 15 final in Sydney with a remarkable adventure. Many memories were made; the Australian cuisine was thoroughly enjoyed, landmarks were explored and most importantly, we witnessed a piece of History in the Waratahs winning the cup!

The SuperGees Tour group was taken to the airport by bus and boarded Qantas flight QF63 to Johannesburg. Soon we jetted off, away from Sydney. The plane took a last turn over the ANZ stadium, reminding me what it was all about – our insane passion for Rugby. The same game that united South Africa in the 1995 Rugby World Cup, united several lucky rugby fans from all over South Africa on a once in a lifetime trip!

We landed at O.R. Tambo international, passed through border control to the baggage collection. The Vodacom SuuperGees group said their final goodbyes – it was like greeting a lifelong friend that was about to immigrate. I just had to remind myself of a quote by Dr. Seuss:

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

Thank you Vodacom! You have shown me the beauty of Sydney, and also the camaraderie that exists between South Africans!
